Student Ministry Volunteers
The Street Student Ministry exists to engage and bless students and their families in our community with the Gospel. We do this by helping students (grades 6-12) connect with Christ and each other, grow in Christ, and serve and share Christ. The students meet regularly and also enjoy special events together.
Our team of volunteers is called the “Road Crew.” It is made up of adults from King Street Church who love God and love students. Each member of our Road Crew has received background clearances, and had an interview with the student ministry pastors. We are looking to expand our team in a variety of ways:
- Child care for Wednesday evenings (Sept to April): Volunteers serve as part of a rotating team, one to two times a month from 6:15-8:30 pm, and work in pairs to care for a small group of children (infant – Kindergarten), while their parents serve downstairs.
- GPS Leaders & Teachers (Sundays): GPS groups are where our students dig into the Word of God, learning to study the Bible and apply it to their lives. Our GPS Adult Team assists with teaching large group lessons and/or facilitating small group discussions.
- Small Group Leaders (Wednesdays): On Wednesday nights during the school year, students have fun, build relationships and learn about Christ through games, worship music, small groups and large group teaching time. Our small group leaders follow their students throughout their years at The Street, building bonds and investing in the lives of their small group members.
- Food Team: On Wednesday evenings, we provide students with a warm meal. This team also helps with overseeing the food for special events and annual traditions like Summer Sneak.
